FAQ

Questions shop owners ask us.

Straight answers about contracts, your data, phones, texting and support. Don't see yours? Email support@ringoretail.com.

Plans and billing

Is there a contract?

No. Every plan is month to month. See Pricing for plans, setup fees and add-ons.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel from Settings → Plan in the app or email support@ringoretail.com. There is no cancellation fee; service runs to the end of the month you paid for.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Download everything first from Settings → Your data. After you cancel, your store's data is deleted 30 days later, and our encrypted backups (kept for 60 days) roll off after that. Your POS, QuickBooks and other connected accounts are yours and are not touched.

Your data

Can I export my data?

Yes, anytime. Settings → Your data downloads your products, sales, customers, holds, schedules, timesheets and change history. Most screens also have a “Download CSV” button.

Who can see what?

Access is by role. Employees don't see costs, margins or pay rates; managers see store reports; admins manage settings and users. Every change is kept in a change history. More on the Security page.

POS and connections

Which point-of-sale systems work with Ringo Retail?
Does Ringo change my stock counts in the POS?

Only if you turn on stock write-back. Then counts, receiving, transfers and shrink you enter in Ringo are sent back to your POS so both stay in step.

Phones and calls

Do I keep my existing phone number?

Yes. Most stores keep their number and forward calls to Ringo (all calls, or only when you're busy or closed). You can stop forwarding anytime. If you'd rather, we can also give you a new local number.

Are calls recorded? What do callers hear?

By default Ringo says “This call may be recorded for quality” right after the greeting, and recordings and transcripts show in your call log. You can turn the notice off in Settings, but some states require every party to be told, so we recommend leaving it on. Ringo tells callers it's an AI assistant if they ask.

Texting

When do customer texts start?

Each store gets its own texting number. Carriers require that number to be registered (your business name, address and tax ID, plus sample messages) before it can text customers. Registration typically takes 1–3 weeks after setup. Calls, holds and the app work from day one; texts start as soon as the carriers approve.

How do customers agree to texts?

Ringo asks “Can we text you updates?” before sending hold, pickup, repair or back-in-stock texts, and the website hold button has its own checkbox. Marketing texts (birthdays, win-back, promotions) need a separate yes. Customers can reply STOP anytime to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent is kept on each customer's record.

Support and the app

How do I reach support?

Email support@ringoretail.com or use “Still stuck?” on any screen in the app. We answer on weekdays during business hours (Mountain time), usually the same business day. Your first month includes weekly check-ins.

Is there a phone app?

Yes. Ringo Retail installs from the browser, no app store needed. On iPhone open app.ringoretail.com in Safari, tap Share, then “Add to Home Screen”. On Android or a computer, open it in Chrome and choose “Install app”. You get the icon, full-screen view and notifications.
